About
Dogs in History began with a single, unforgettable image: French knife grinders at work, in which men had their loyal dogs lying across their feet to keep them warm. The Basset Hound caught my eye, and my heart, because my first dog - a Basset Hound - was also my living blanket.
That photograph sparked a deep curiosity: Who were these dogs? What were their lives like? Dogs in History was born from that moment, out of a desire to uncover and share the stories of dogs who’ve quietly shaped human history with their presence, loyalty, and warmth.
